  1. in this book Elizabeth was soon to be forced into a marriage if her younger sister after her kept on becoming married before her.

  15. The main object of Austen’s satire in the novel is the mercenary and the ignorance of the people, a common criticism of the 18th century
  16. she is able to convey such a complex message using a simple, yet witty, style.

  18. Elizabeth mother is an embarrassment and she cant tell her mother that for its "non-lady like"
  19. her mother tells her that if she denies a marring than she will never talk to her again.
  20. her father stays in bed or in the office

  1. back then being married was for a reason not for love
  2. in sence and sensibillity she shows that women should hold jobs like men
  3. in this time When a man died, his money was actually passed on to the closest living male heir and the women were left penniless
  4. mr. darcy is wealthy so Elizabeth seemed to have no chance because of her family.

  6. her parents are known for being a failure because of there daughters lack of judgment and the fact that they want to do what THEY WANT
  7. mr darcy's aunt dislikes the fat that Elizabeths lack of music talents
  8. Pride and depicts a society in which a woman’s reputation is of the utmost importance
  9. A woman is expected to behave in certain ways.
  10. when Elizabeth walks to Netherfield and arrives with muddy skirts, Miss Bingley is in total shock
  11. The lines of class are strictly shown
  12. Austen pokes gentle fun at the snobs in these examples
  13. when one of the younger sisters got married and ran away they was told that is was lack of judgment and a disgrace
  14. She assumes distinct moral positions and invites the reader to join her
  15. Elizabeth was a very intelligent character, but it was not only the smart females that held this sort of strong feminine notion about marrying for love
  16. She had views on women and marriage and woman's rights in general and she made that known in her writing
  17. Her message was read by millions of women all over England and is read by millions more today
  18. without women like Austen, women may have been left in the dust
  19. sometime in her novels she writes about how money/wealth/status determined a marriage
  20. she did help create the way for modern day feminists

  9. in sense and sensibility she shows how its wrong for men to have all the jobs that pay
  10. she wants to prove to the young women, and old as well, that there is a chance to shine, they just need to find that opening

  13. she has created a world for women that never was truly there
  14. she showed women that they CAN have there own life
  15. even though that may not happen in some cases women back then read a lot so its a true fairy tail for some
  16. her mother disproved of her writing and scolded that she was wasting her time
  17. She wrote about the relationships between men and women, the problems of women in her day
  18. she took in some criticisms from people around her especially as it affected women
  19. Jane Austen would be amazed to see women studying at university
  20. Elizabeth in her one novel only wants to marry if she can find 'the very deepest love" even though that may put a threat on her family

  21. in the time that she lived an independent life was impossible for a woman
  22. she tried to explain through her writing that a real woman is independent, has a career, and wants a man but doesn't need him
  23. in one of her novels Elizabeth's parents said that Mr Darcy's money would help, but it doesn't influence Elizabeth to accept him in the first place.
  24. a lot of people think she is feminist
  25. her mother never approved of her stories but her sister loved them
  26. her sister was vary close to Elizabeth because she can relate to all shes trying to prove
  27. there was never any good photographs of Austen only rough sketches
  28. most novels were based on girls from the 18th century
  29. in the novel Pride and Prejudice Elizabeth walks to see her sister at the Darcy's but when she came in she looked a bit messy so their sister was kind of shocked and annoyed
  30. a lot of clubs based on women rights named after her
  31. even though she wanted women rights she still wanted us to have manners....something we all lack today
  32. her words in her novels are strong and independent
  33. she didn't like forces marriages if it was for money
  34. she shows that in Pride and Prejudice with Elizabeth
  35. explained that not every girl needs a man
  36. also explained that it was OK for women to deny a proposal
  37. back then women only was wearing dresses

  39. was always standing in the most proper way
